Narnia – Sangla Valley in Himachal Pradesh

Narnia in Sangla Valley

In September, Sangla Valley was in its full bloom (here); bathing in lush greens, ochre and blue. The Valley now is bejeweled in crystal white, trees have frozen, giving the valley a Narnia like impression and tempting you to never leave.

Narnia

I was in Sangla valley in September, wondering how the valley would transform when the winter comes and brings in the blanket of snow and plummets the valley in freezing temperatures. My cousin bag-packed through the valley in December. The pictures of the valley, transformed into the winter wonderland- Narnia,  brought back the memories of the time lazed on the beds of River Bespa, the bends I got accustomed too, the fresh air circling my neck, the kindness and warmth of the locals. This is the first post of this year and my head is buzzing with places to travel to, heart is back at the mountains and my feet are itching for the miles.

Happy new year everyone.

Beautiful pics. Have been to Kinnaur and Spiti thrice but never in winter. Your pics made my resolve to do white spiti stronger.
